"I expected a lot better. The staff was..."
I expected a lot better. The staff was rude and didn’t act professional at all, and on top of that, they didn’t follow through on what they said they would do. It’s frustrating when a place makes promises and then just acts like it never happened. Definitely not a great experience

"Didn’t feel as global as advertised"
I was expecting a much wider reach, but it felt limited. I also got the impression that nobody really read my message or paid attention to what I was trying to do, which made the whole experience a bit frustrating

"Frustrating corporate partnership process"
We tried to set up a corporate partnership with Orbis, it ended up being way more frustrating than we expected.

The wording on their materials made it sound like the process would be straightforward and collaborative, but that wasn’t really our experience. Replies took forever, details kept changing, and on calls it often felt like nobody was totally sure who was actually managing our account. We had to keep chasing just to find out basic next steps.

I’m sure they do meaningful work, and that’s part of why we were interested in the first place, but the partner experience felt messy and one-sided. In the end, we decided to walk away

I’ve been keeping up with their eye care programs for a bit, and it seems like they’re making a real difference for people. Some of the updates could be a little clearer, no lie, but overall it feels like the help is actually getting where it needs to go. Effective stuff.

"Super easy to find what I needed"
I personally prefer sites that keep things simple, so this one worked well for me. I found the info quickly, and the donation page loaded without any issues.

"Not the volunteer experience I was hoping for"
I went in really wanting to help and have a good experience, but most days I just felt ignored. There didn’t seem to be much direction, and things felt disorganized. This is where it got annoying: I’d show up ready to volunteer, but then I’d spend a lot of time waiting around or trying to figure out what I was supposed to be doing. Overall, it just wasn’t a great experience for me.

"Monthly donation stuff without the usual chaos"
I’ve been doing a monthly donation with orbis for a while now, managing it has been surprisingly painless. Updating my card and changing the donation amount didn’t turn into some grand ordeal, which I fully expected it might. The only tiny downfall in this otherwise calm little saga is that the confirmation emails could be clearer. But overall, no major disasters, no stress, and it feels reliable

"Reply took a little while"
I reached out to orbis.org with a question and they did get back to me but it took longer than I was hoping. The response was useful once I got it so that was fine. I just wish it had been a bit quicker. It wasn't a bad experience but it didn't feel super smooth either. Average overall.

"The mission still feels kind of unclear"
I’ve been trying to figure out what the main mission is supposed to be but it still doesn’t really click for me, it feels a bit vague and I’m not totally sure what I’m meant to take away from it.

"Privacy didn’t feel as solid as I’m used to"
Compared to other donation platforms I’ve used, the donor privacy here just didn’t feel as reassuring. I’m careful about where my info shows up, and this made me a little uneasy.

Something about it just didn’t feel clear enough to me. I was trying to get a better sense of what to expect, but there wasn’t much info to go on. My gut reaction was that they could be a lot more open and straightforward.

"Good patient stories, but I expected more transparency"
I liked reading the patient stories, and there’s definitely some good work being highlighted. That said, the site feels basic overall. I was hoping for more details, clearer follow-up, and a better sense of accountability around the results being shared. It’s a decent start, but I’d like to see more substance behind the stories...

"Not feeling it, not going back"
I donated here and just didn’t feel appreciated at all. It was kind of disappointing, really disappointing, and it left a bad impression. I don’t think I’ll be donating here again

"Felt a bit like my donation disappeared"
I donated to Orbis a while ago because the mission sounded really worthwhile, and I wanted to feel like I was helping in some small way. But after that, I didn’t get much sense of what my donation actually contributed to.
The emails I received felt more like reminders to give again than updates about real impact. It kind of made me feel like just another ticket number in their system rather than an actual supporter they wanted to keep informed.

I’m not saying they don’t do good work, because they probably do. I just wish there had been clearer follow-up or a simple explanation of where the money goes. As it stands, I probably wouldn’t donate again.

"Good cause, but the emails were a lot"
I donated once after getting one of their fundraising emails because the cause seemed genuinely worthwhile. But soon after, I kept getting more donation requests, and it started to feel like every message was asking me to give again.

Some of the emails felt a little too emotional and pushy for me. I also wish there were clearer instructions on how to reduce the emails or choose how often to hear from them, and it would’ve been nice to see a simple explanation of where my small donation actually went.

"Helpful eye health info, with a few site hiccups"
I thought orbis.org was solid from a medical point of view. The eye care information is easy to follow, and they do not make big promises the way some health sites do. I also like that they talk a lot about training doctors and supporting long-term care instead of just pushing quick fixes.
The only reason I would not give it a full 5 stars is that the site can be a little awkward to browse at times. Some pages also could use more detail for people who want the medical side explained a bit more clearly

I’ll give it credit, the educational stuff is easy to read and I did learn a few things. But some of the pages feel way too short, like they barely get into the topic before moving on. Whoever runs this should really flesh it out more, because the basics are there, it just needs more depth.

The reports were clear and easy enough to follow, which made me feel like they were handling things responsibly. I do think that when someone is managing money, keeping people updated regularly is just the right thing to do, so I wish the updates came a bit more often.

I was trying to donate, but the whole donation circus had way too many steps. After clicking around for a bit, I just got annoyed and gave up.

"Changing my donation was more of a hassle than expected"
I tried emailing twice to change my monthly donation, and after a few days I got what felt like a copy-paste response. There wasn’t a clear person’s name attached or a straight answer to what I was asking, so I ended up having to follow up again. Maybe their support team is understaffed or everything is routed through some generic inbox, I’m not sure, but it definitely made me feel ignored as a donor. I still think the cause is probably worthwhile, but the support experience was frustrating.
